Sónia Fidalgo is a Professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, where she has been a member of the teaching staff since 2003. She is currently the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Law Programme at the same Faculty.

She is the author of the monographs Responsabilidade penal por negligência no exercício da medicina em equipa (Coimbra Editora, 2008) and Princípio da confiança e crimes negligentes (Almedina, 2018).

Professor Fidalgo is also a Researcher at the Institute for Legal Research of the Faculty of Law, and the author and co-author of several publications in the fields of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law.

In recent years, her research has focused particularly on cybercrime and digital evidence.
