Dr. Carmen Moldovan is an Associate Professor (PhD, habil.) of Public International Law at the Law Faculty of Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași, Romania. She also serves as Vice-Dean and is a co-founder of the Centre for International Law at the Faculty. Additionally, she teaches courses on Freedom of Expression, International Criminal Law, and International Law for Sustainable Development. Carmen has also served as an expert in Public International Law for the MAC Protocol Supervisory Authority Ad Hoc Committee, established by the UNIDROIT Governing Council.
She earned her PhD in Law in 2012 with a focus on the limitations imposed by Criminal Law on freedom of expression. Carmen also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Private International Law and a Bachelor's Degree in Law from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University.
Carmen has participated in several teaching exchanges in international law and human rights at universities in Spain, the Czech Republic, Italy, and France. She is involved in various international projects, including the European Campus of City Universities (EC2U).
Furthermore, she has attended courses at the Hague Academy of International Law, the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, and the International Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg, and she has undertaken research visits at the European Court of Human Rights and Orleans University.
